If you quit Kroger...do you need to take a withdrawal card from the Union officially, if you were a member? Live in a "right to work state". Thanks for your help!
Do you plan on working for Kroger again and rejoining the union?
I woudl fill it out to be safe. How long could it possibly take? Even tho I bet it will get lost anyway the way our union stewards roll.
My understanding is it freezes your union dues. If you come back and did not fill out the withdrawal card, you owe back dues from the time you quit. Most people are able to move onto bigger and better things tho.
The only thing a withdrawl card does is keep them from hitting you with intiation fees if/when you come back. You don't need one per say. Your union may not require one to come back too. Mine only does for meat cutters.
Whatever you can do to avoid paying dues. Do it. Send it a way that can be proven. certified mail. Fax it and keep all paper work believe me if they can get you they will. I have seen it happen to returning employees.
