lol, sort of but not really. You get the satisfaction of showing up for your job instead of running around trick or treating. You might get some candy out of the deal. But, no, you do not get extra pay unless your manager decides to give out gift cards.
When you were told this, did someone say, "trick or treat" before the statement.
This guy sounds like one of them young ones in high school. They think ANYTHING that's celebrated within the calendar year is a legal, federal holiday that falls under a different payscale.
No, buddy, you don't get paid extra on October 31st. If that's the case, they need to start paying extra for Columbus Day, Fair Day, December 7th, Patriot Day, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Summer Solstice, Winter Solstice, Pi Day, Flag Day, and most importantly, my birthday.
On another note, are anyone's stores doing something special for Halloween?
My store's holding some festival/party for kids this Tuesday afternoon/evening. They'll be giving out candy and holding costume contests, and playing games.

Oh yeah we're gonna have a bowl of candy to keep my cashiers awake when it is dead that evening.
Oh, and the kids can have some too if they come in.

Yes, word for word the same for my store. Candy, costume contests, and games.
I'm off on Halloween, so ima party with my friends! Don't have to be at work at all (vaycay!) so my job is blocked from calling me until my vacation is done
