so I only got 12 hours last week... not much to tax there but taxes were 16.50... meanwhile the union took 17.75 and I was left with 63 dollars do they not care that I have rent to pay? what exactly is the union looking out for when they take money I really really needed to pay my rent with?
In my local we can get hardship pay from the union if we get under 200 hours per month.
One of the guys in my department was complaining his hours got cut. He said to let him know if I didn't want a shift, he'd take it. A week later I offered him one and he said "No that would be 5 days in a row, too much stress man". lolz
one guy got 9 hours and I didn't see any "requested off" on his hours on the schedule. I have no other job at the moment and I only asked that I was off by 9pm on Monday, other than that my availability was wide open.
I am newer so the union is taking the 7.75 in addition to the 10 dollars for however long they do that. I was just saying.. Did they REALLY need to take that whole 10 dollars out of a 90 dollar check? Couldn't they have waited until I had a larger check or only took 5 dollars?
It really makes no sense. They hired this guy after me that I have to say IMO is not as good/hard working/competent of a worker as me. They had me "training" to do the Nature's Market as that's part of our department. The milks need restocked every night. It's kind of a pain in the ass/cluster**** to get all the milks stocked at the end of the night and it's not something you want to just let anybody do. I was doing really good at it and then suddenly next week they took me off of it and gave it to the newer guy. No one had even bothered to explain how it works to him, so I found myself "training" him on it for when he had to do it and I wouldn't be there those nights. I can only imagine what a mess it will be. Makes no sense at all to me to keep hiring people when you have a good person that wants more hours.... and when I say "more hours" I understand I can't get full time yet... I'm saying even 25 hours a week would be nice.
