Political donations as part of union fees payroll deductions

The union takes two amounts out of my paycheck - the union dues and a $.25 political donation. Can I opt out of the political donations?

Yes. When I first started working for Kroger, the paperwork I had to sign had 2 places to put my signature. One was for initiation into the union, and the other was for political donations. The union can't force you to support their political agenda.
