Im becoming a back department head. It says after I complete my training I have to pass a required evaluation. I just want to know what the evaluation is like, so any help would be great.

They want to know how far you can bend over. Be sure to practice. Your butt my hurt afterwards, but, it's worth it.

In my division the evaluation is "are you breathing"? If so you are now a manager. Congratulations.

remember a promotion at krogers usually just means more work and responsibilities not necessarily more money.

only time you get more money is when head goes on vacation or in 25 years when they retire.

also being backup you'll probably get scheduled to work most holidays because head will schedule themselves off to celebrate

Wow, if this is true in your division, your backups are getting screwed. I make .60 on top of my regular rate not even being certified yet; once I get certified that will bump to ~1.35 extra.

This, however, is true.

In my division if you become a back up, you get put to the top of your pay scale regardless of how long you worked. I got about a 6 dollar raise.

Your district coordinator of your department should come and ask you questions to see if you can handle it. That's what they did for me.

I have been waiting for over a damn year for that to happen......still waiting.  The grievance is on-going.
