I recently had two co-workers from another department come to U-scan and attempt to buy alcohol. After checking both of their ID's it became clear that neither of the two were 21. I proceeded to remove the product from the area and informed my floor supervisor of the incident and she went on to tell our store manager. I ended up filling out a statement form the next morning when I went into work. I trusted my superiors to handle the situation according to the law as well as to store policies (it is considered a misdemeanor to attempt to purchase alcohol as a minor in Texas). However, today when I went to work I found out that both of the co-workers who committed the violation received no legal discipline, and were only put on suspension for a week through the store which means they will continue to work for Kroger. I have already been slandered and harassed by the two associates along with other employees. Phrases such as "snitch" and "snitches get stitches" were thrown out multiple times. I have had little to no help/support from my stores management when I voiced my concern after my shift today. I am asking for help/advice on what I should do. Because I am not going to allow myself to be harassed for doing my job properly and following state laws.
Two thugs think thy are bad asses? You didn't 'snitch' you do what the robot told you to do. If they want to be mad at something tell them to be mad at the robot. You're a good boy who does what he's told... By robots.

They're just mad because you followed company policy, had you nott; YOUD be the one fired. Someone once told my brother. "Snitches get stitches" as well. Well, my brother is NOT kne you want to mess with. He just looked at them smiling and said " when you f* let's grow up, come and see me. Bring a broom so you can sweep up your broken teeth." They backed off.

Well... it sounds like the store mgmt. wanted to sweep this under the company rug. Any decent, law abiding company should want to take this opportunity to rid themselves of two losers that have probably been doing this for awhile and probably other things like theft and fraud. Unfortunately the company has a long history of evading bad press so it's basically up to you to pursue this legally... which means you filing complaint with local police which in turn will result in the almighty company being investigated for obstructing justice. If you choose to follow this through then be prepared for more "harassment" from co-workers and from the company. Sometimes doing the right and legal thing creates a heavy burden for the whistleblower- be prepared to move on to a better job in case there's a secret vendetta against you like you say for just following the law. Company H.R. should be grateful if you were to contact them and report the situation and the ongoing harassment but sometimes they speak out of both sides of their mouth so tread lightly. Good Luck- I'm Pullin for Ya!
