When I first started at Kroger in the meat department, my usual shift was 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Now I'm always scheduled for evenings. Like 4p - 10p. This isn't a HUGE deal because I do have open availability, I was just wondering what would make them change it? Will it change back or will I always be working evenings? Also, does anyone know if the managers of any Kroger stores check these things? I don't want my store manager to find out I complain about my job on here haha (nervous laugh)

If you have just been hired on @ Kroger, you will be stuck working the later shift due to seniority. You may get an occasional earlier shift but don't count on it. When I started @ Kroger, I worked 1230-9 for at least 3 years straight. I wouldn't worry about Kroger managers getting on here.
Could be a number of things. Has someone quit? Is someone on vacation? It could even mean that your department head now trusts you to work with less supervision. Don't know your department's/store's hours, but a dependable closer can be hard to find. Will things change again? Quite probably. Schedules are constantly in flux around K-Land. Hope the people in your personal life are understanding.
Regarding this forum:
Given enough time at it, no one really likes their job, and we all blow off steam one way or another. As long as you exercise an appropriate level of discretion (refrain from naming names, revealing private details, or making threats), no sane adult will be surprised or care that you gripe on here--particularly if you have proved a dependable worker.

No, no one quit and no one is on vacation. The meat counter closes at 9 p.m. and we start closing at 8. So me working till 10 means I'm closing but I still get to leave at 10 as my schedule says 10 and not "closing". But other meat workers can sometimes be there until 11:30 or later to get the cleaning and stuff done. And I was jut worried about the forum because I put my first name in my name like an idiot so I'm worried someone I work with might see me on here lol

I'm sure there's plenty of Justin's who work for the Kroger company (even in the meat dept) so you'd be fine. But that's why I never give store numbers or anything like that (although if someone really did some digging, they could figure me out. But hey if they want to do that much research let them lol)
Someone could have rolled you for your shift. How long have you been with Kroger?
You can talk to management and see if they'll return hours
They could have seen you as a dependable employee and switched your hours because they figured you'd do well closing.
As for change back possibility. Kroger hours tend to jump like bacon on a hot skillet, but it don't hurt to ask.
Eh. Just thought I'd ask as I wasn't entirely sure why it changed. I don't prefer one shift over the other so I'm fine working either one. Was just curious.

Well, typically no one starts with the hours you just described. More than likely, those hours were just based on training. After you were fully "trained" (whatever that means in Kroger land) you were given regular shifts based on seniority just like everyone else.
