It doesn't make sense! What's the point of eschedule? A computer can't read evaluations, can't see who the hard workers are from the time stealing (not using the to clock for numerous smoke breaks) quick cigarette smoke breaks are! It's soooo aggravating! I've worked my butt off for 7+ years only to get shot down to 10 hours a week AT NIGHT ONLY, by a stupid computer! I know my evals have all been excellent and hose working the day shifts and getting more hours than me don't have hood evals. Just a months seniority!!!! Ugh!! I can't wait until my husband gets orders and I can tell thus store to kiss my availability goodbye!! I will miss my customers though, they are also customers to my home home business.

In a word...DUH!  omfg.gif Actually, E-schedule makes PERFECT sense, if you're a company that wants to run things as chaotically as possible!

that's because the store doesn't run on how good of a worker you are, it's run based on seniority! someone could be the slowest, laziest worst worker but they're gonna get the early shifts.

what we need to do is get rid of the union. while raises wont be guaranteed, they can schedule based on actual availability instead of seniority. they can give hours to those who work hardest. kroger will never pay anything that good, so the union is pointless in trying to "defend" wages. i say get rid of the union, knock out the slow, good-for-nothing full timers who drain the company of so much payroll for such little work, and start getting college kids in there to work while they're in school etc. this will raise productivity (younger, faster workers) for less money (hey, 9-10 bucks an hour during school isn't bad at all)

College kids fast and productive?  Maybe if you gag them and destroy their smart phones.  That being said, some of your ideas intrigue me...

Im 23 I've worked here for 4 years been full time for almost 3, and i find it funny and disrespectful that you believe your faster/better than young people because of age. Get off your overzealous high horse. Old people waste just as much of not more than young people at my store.

While i agree about full timers. However i don't agree about the college kids. Because i work with a few,and their lazy as hell. I've worked for kroger's for 4 yrs,and in that  college kids, and young people are who i have worked with, and i'm here to tell you the younger generation have no idea what having pride in a good job is. They are mostly lazy as hell. So but the older generation has better work ethics than they do. I bust my ass,and if anything look at the management as far as your schedule afterall they have to approve your schedule. I wish i had  fulltime so i could feed my family, and pay my billls with less worry. Instead i have had to rely on food stamps, and a food pantry to help me. disbelief My parents taught me to work for what i need. Today's kids, and young people just don't care in a job well done.

Not all older people are like that. But then again not all young people are fast. I would take 2 older workers over 1 young person anyday of the week. Most young people are lazy. Not care if they do all their work. Or too stoned to care how well they do. Older generations have better work ethics than most of the young combined into one person. You jugde us older worker unfaithly. Go earn your degree. And leave sleeping dog lie.

1) As I said before to you, take your name out of your signature. You are tempting fate putting any identifying info that can be traced back to you on this site.

2) While I have seen many younger workers who were terrible wastes of payroll, I have also seen older ones who were nothing but a warm body and were utterly useless as labor. The problem with the older ones is larger, however, because the pay and benefits they draw from the company can outweigh what a younger worker drains by easily 2-1. I would expect someone who has the benefit of experience and a higher pay rate to be far more productive, but sadly that is not always the case. That being said, I have seen equal numbers of extremely hard workers equally in every age, gender, and socioeconomic group.

Easy there soldier, it's called generalization.  I suspect we're all aware that "useless sack of flesh" knows every demographic.

And that's where you are being extremely rude.

some younger workers are lazy. Some older workers do nothing, and don't get in trouble on the basis of seniority. One of the older baggers is one of the laziest people in my store and everyone knows it. But instead of doing anything about it, the managers treat it as if it's funny. But if anyone else does that, you better believe they'd get written up! You seem to be one of these people who think you are better than everyone, talk about others who are in your situation, and yet somehow think you're entitled just because you're older.

If younger people are lazy, who do you think caused it? Older people do nothing but whine and moan about the "younger generation" and yet it was you people who raised the younger generation!

If you're going to talk about all younger people this way, you have no right at all to talk about judging you "unfaithly", whatever that means.

yea blame the younger generation.. blah blah blah.. Old people are just as lazy there just creative with their time wasting.. The problem is Kroger makes it hard to fire people who aren't stealing and being insubordinate, old and young. Everything is based on seniority so some older people feel they've put time in already so they should be allowed to take it easy. Kroger needs to stop with the seniority crap and guaranteed scheduled raises, i'd settle on  giving raises on a schedule if you meet standards and do an adequate job day in day out. That way everyone truly wins, company saves money not giving raises and allowing lazy people to quit bringing in a new minimum wage employee, hard workers actually get rewarded, every hard worker could potentially  have hard workers the store could potentially have a better core of employees who actually work together. In GM we have four people all 30 or younger, we consistently are one of the best departments every week we are the only surge checkers in the entire store and we even spend some days working grocery/dairy trucks. The others departments with older people cant get there crap together, i don't know if its just our store but the older people seem to have a sense of entitlement. The most amazing thing is the overnight crew saying they have truck left over because We couldnt imagine how much they throw.. After we cover vacations for the overnight crew.. ha

Funny, in my store drug/gm is all older people that leave all their boxes scattered around the back room. The only non-FE departments with a lot of young people in my store are produce and deli, and they constantly get killed on OSAT for things out of their control (i.e. high prices on strawberries, not checking people out at the deli register). I do, however, believe that a department full of teens and 20s can be the best in the store. I think doing drug/gm would be cool, but all the little bottles would be a true pain.

Its not so bad once you get used to it I used to work all over grocery but felt I was being taken advantage of, so I went back to GM and I love working with my boss.  Our worst OSAT dept is meat 3 consecutive times they have been chosen. They gave out 1000 $10 coupons  to surrounding homes to try to increase the OSAT to move to another dept, they still weren't good enough to change.

I wasn't say all young people are lazy. Pick the dirt out of your ears. If the shoe fits wear it. Not all older people are lazy. Some are very hard working individuals. And i am oneof a few who bust are butts to make up for the lazy young people. I worked 7 hours today. I did my work plus the work of 2 others. Before i worked for krogers i worked 3 part time jobs sometimes back to back . Up at3 am,and not home before 11pm at night. So how dare you say all older generation individual are lazy. Because i'm not abite lazy. Grow up you jerk. If you have never worked more than one job. You have no idea what your talking about. If anything your talking out your back side for sure.

No, I think they're just really that crazy.

Apparently no one can ever work as hard as her, and her nieces and nephew. Even though they're young, and young people are all lazy, they're an exception, because they're related to her.

But don't dare generalize a whole group of people. Only she can do that.

Um ok.

And why should kids care about it when our leaders only show greed in the workplace. They don't care anyone or anything except the all mighty dollar.

If you want to make real money from Kroger then you're going to have to become a member of store management or corporate. Don't expect to get a solid 40 hours and $15 an hour for being a general clerk.

How can you call either of us an idiot when you continue to come up with such intelligent sentences, including " i darn real" and "Talk about following ours with the e-schedule."?

I might be young, but at least I passed high school English. Are you sure you graduated?

It's pretty obvious at this point it's a troll account. Don't take it seriously, cause, I'm sure not.
