Can we just pause for a minute here?

I know this is not discussed much here, but I just wanted to thank a guy that I know who worked for Kroger. I knew him for well over a decade. He was one of the hardest-working people I've ever seen in my life. He was a bagger, yes, but he could run circles around so many of you so quickly it would make your head spin! Never known a more dedicated employee...EVER! Well, I just wanted to say that I lost a very good friend recently. I loved him like a brother. The guy that I knew who worked so hard was only 41 years old, people! At first, they thought he had gallstones becuase he was having constant stomach pains. Well, when they opened him up, they found that he had late stage pancreatic cancer, and there was nothing they could do, because it was so advanced. They say that particular cancer is one of the least known about, but most deadly. It is also one of the hardest to detect and to treat and to overcome. And now I wonder when he used to complain of heartburn in the past, if something else wasn't going on entirely. They say people can be replaced, but a man like him IS irreplaceable. He cared so much for the customers, for his fellow associates, and was always looking out for everyone else. In the end, he forgot to take care of himself. So, I want you guys to think about that when you're talking about who did this and who did that, and who screwed up and all that crap. Leave the petty stuff at home for a minute, and remember a young man who had so many years left in him, but was taken in the prime of his life. No mother or father should have to bury their own child, people! If anything, let this teach you...none of us are immortal, we are only here for a short time. Let's take better care of ourselves, and treat each other with a little more respect. My best friend would have wanted it that way.

My respects for your lost friend. That was an excellent post, one of the best and most heart felt I've ever seen on here. Thank you for that.

Sorry for your loss. And it's true. People NEED to stop bitching about who did what, who didn't do what, etc. Really? Leave the petty crap at the door.

Unfortunately, pancreatic cancer is one of those things where a diagnosis often is a death sentence since its can only be detected at it's worst and critical stage.

That said, my respect goes out to your colleague.

That is an amazing video. I hope he's right, and that it works on many different kinds of cancers. That would be awesome if it actually reduced the number or severity of cancers out there!
