Maybe it means you can run a secret butcher shop in its place. You'll still have your job and everything! No need to ask your representative or managers about transferring which is common sense.
Probably means that you should start looking to either transfer or work at a different employer entirely. I don't know if you're a cutter or not. If you are, then I'd really think about whether you want to risk working at another supermarket or if you'd rather work at a local butcher shop. The latter probably has less benefits but better pay and work environment. Do you think you'd want to maybe try working a different department in a different store? It may be too much change, but this is a good opportunity to really evaluate exactly "what" you want to do in our career.
Normally, kroger will try to relocate you to another kroger per contract. Either you accept their offer or lose your job. You need to ask your shop steward about this.
Keep in mind, you will be under new management and some managers are very strict about part timers getting hours over 26 per week.
