Couldn't find a topic on this, but what are the CAO Basics to know?
Theres alot of abbreviations in the handheld that I need to know and functions so management wont have the upper-hand when it comes to missing items or incorrect BOHs or negative ones.
for example, sometimes i have an out of stock in the dairy dept, and I know BOHs are incorrect and the put a function into the handheld that shows them the delivery day... they dont show us the procedures so they can give us a hard time.
I have learned everything just from asking all the senior employees. My Bakery department has a list of functions on a card on the wall.
BOH-Balance on Hand
If you press control and then the letter O, it will show you the delivery date. It will show how many cases were ordered in the first column and then how many cases were recieved. If there is an asterisk in the recieved column, that means the order has not been added to your store computer BOH. You can manually upload the order in ISP on the computer. It will mess someone up if they are used to figuring out BOHs before it is uploaded.
If you press function and the number 0, it will show how the BOH was adjusted. Then press function 9, that will show you who changed it. If it is just 5 numbers, that means a shipper or distro was sent. If it is 2 letters and 5 numbers, then someone in the store changed it.
To change the BOH, press function 2, alter any field with caution, then to save, press function 5. I usually use 8 for the reason. Anytime is a good time to check allocation(what the shelf actually holds) and minimum(the minimum of product before the computer auto orders).
The two fields on the top right hand side. The first one is the Open order. You change that number to order the number of cases you want. The second is On order. That means it should be delivered or in the process of being delivered but hasn't been uploaded into your BOH. The computer automatically uploads at midnight at our store.
I don't really use any other functions regularly. But, there are a lot.
