im a part timer and my last day off was Tuesday, next week my day off is Thursday, that's 8 days... i thought they could work you no more than 6 in a row.
That sucks but I think I remember it written in my contract that no more than 6 days because the 7th day is an automatic overtime... (not the OP btw) so have you talked to your manager?
At my store we can't work more than 5 days in a week. So the maximum would be 10 days in a row (Tuesday-Saturday of week A, and Sunday-Thursday of week B).

In Michigan my store says that they can work us as many consecutive days as we are willing or they want to as long as we have our 8 hours in between shifts.

If you're part time, in Dayton/Cincy I think they can work you as many days as they want you to. My record is about 9-10. Haven't had to do that in a while though. That was an extreme circumstance.
Thats nothing. I've been on a 12 day stretch and i'm full time.... there are days where i'll work 2 - 10 and have to be back at 7 am the next day.
I asked my union rep about long stretches across weeks and was told "needs of the business" so they can work me ten days in a row with days off at the start and end without asking or violating contract. And they have. It's insane and to me that's inhumane BS. My take is it's not the need of the business for an hourly employee to be scheduled to the point of error-inviting exhaustion.
Even when I've been in those situations I had to fight for my breaks or gone without. I wish I'd kept a list of every missed or denied break while with the company.
They'll violate contract on time between shifts, they'll schedule six days without asking. They'll override your availability part time or full time.

As full time I do 9-10 way more than my share because that 40 hours in five days is week by week rather than ensuring you get a day off at least every five days. I had even talked to a schedule writer once about it. I asked if I should start requesting a day off or wasting personal days on it if it looks like itt might happen and I was told that's what they did but I shouldn't have too.
Guess what? I didn't request and got scheduled nine straight just as I was worried about. I hate requesting specific days with my only reason being I don't want to work seven or ten days in a row. But then I see people around me requesting whenever and I'm always screwed over.
Your schedule goes from Sunday morning until Saturday morning. They can work part timers 6 days for 24 hours total during the week. They can give you Sunday morning off, work you Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs, Fri and give you the final Saturday off. 12 days in a row. They are not breaking any rules. My Grocery manager has done this to me several times over the years after I get back from a vacation.
you guys are complaining about getting hours?our store is refusing to give them. i was scheduled 0 hours last week and just over 11 this week. i just want like 15-20 hours and im not even getting that. im fairly certain someone is padding the budget to make themselves look better while the store suffers being understaffed.
Anyone else part time getting this 2 days of work for 4 hours each crap? First they gave us 3 days off vs 2 then dropped us to 4 hrs a night and now its 2 days of work for me, and a newer person got 7 straight days of work no break? wth is going on here?
