I QUIT

Finally, I am out of the hell hole that is Kroger. I was a courtesy clerk and it was the most miserable job I've ever had. When I was 16, I worked at McDonald's and they treated me better. I am so happy to be out of that place and ready to start my new job. Kroger was, hands down, the worst job I ever had. If I worked an 8 hr shift, I had carts for 5-6 hrs. How fair is that?

lol, whoever told you life is fair is a liar.  Is getting carts really that bad?

Sorry for your disappointment with Kroger.

Good luck with your new job and your future.

I'm guessing you aren't a bagger? Go out and get carts in -35 degree weather for 5 hrs and then talk to me.

lol, I feel for you so don't get smart with me.

I chose the job I have and do it well.  I am a peon just like you were but have 6 years with kroger and am not ready to move onto something else.

You are not supposed to spend mere than 10 minutes at a time in those temps.

Like I said, Good luck wherever your future takes you.

I send out tag teams for short runs when it's cold or there's a heavy downpour though it hasn't been that cold here, not much below freezing. That's crazy hours in crazy temps...

I'm ready to quit because, at this point, getting carts sounds like a dream compared to running a hopelessly dysfunctional front end.  I'm not the schedule writer so I'm screwed every week and I'm tired of it.

You should have stayed and become a cashier or a produce guy. Both better than flipping burgers.

Unless you work at a store that only "has enough hours for 2 baggers" per day. It sucks :(

I am close to quitting as well. All this company does is reward lazy people if they have years with Kroger. Not all of the employees with years of working there but a very large majority. They always cut hours from newer employees  and expect twice as much work done. All best of all a pathetic hourly pay.

It is actually funny that instead of rewarding a fast and constant worker the rest of the co workers fear for their job. I will go as far as to say I carried my department. After I was moved around to other departments to help, my old department fell behind and lost sales due to no products being stocked.

Rant over.
