There was a job opening for a dept head, but it was never posted and very few people in the store knew about it. We thought the previous department head was on vacation. The job was filled by someone from a different store who just so happens to be married to that departments'coordinater. Not only does that seem like a conflict of interest, it seems fishy to me.
I'm by no means pro-union, but this is just ridiculous. If I worked in that dept. I'd do everything possible to get my steward interested or just leave Kroger altogether. Even corporate would probably be interested in hearing a couple of employees breaching the policy on married co-workers.
Oh well in our KMA our KMA president is married to a Zone manager. I asked someone about this and they said that's just the tip of the iceberg, this whole company is job promotion by family.
