Took three days for me to be called and asked to come in for the computer training.

Not sure what company that was used for background. I am in Georgia.

Takes up to three weeks. Took two for me. Be patient.

Is there any reason why you shouldn't pass?

Dude, I know your pain. I took my mouth swab test like 12-13 days ago. Kroger called me, and hired me. And I start work soon BUT i had to sign a paper that says b/c kroger is hiring you before your results are in, kroger has the authority to terminate you for being positive.

But I didn't believe them. And I grabbed my oral fluid testing lab sheet at home (they give you a copy) and learned for right numbers to called. Called the collecting agency; they assured me that the test was sent in the day after It was taken and "reported on" (which means results) the same day. From there, the agency sends it to the MRO (stands for medical something but all they really do is send the results directly to kroger). Called the MRO's number. They said the exact same thing. It was received and reported on the day after my swab, and it was sent to Kroger the next day too. Kroger has it. Every source says it. But Kroger briefly (as if not wanting to linger on it) said the results aren't in so sign this paper. And I think the manager watched me sign in. I think they got suspicious b/c I asked about my medications showing up on the test at the first interview. And they're essentially double testing me making me sign that paper.

B/c every agency they go through has ON RECORD (each agency pulled up my information, name and specimen ID #) that Kroger has it.

The ****? Anyway, I'm still paranoid. There's a chance (a small one) I failed for THC. But still, I'm hired and ****. and according to everyone but Kroger they have the test.

But here is the part that YOU want to here. From all my internet research (and I did SO MUCH) the agency themselves will call you if you failed. Of this I'm 98% sure. So, with my info from the agencies and the fact that i've heading towards two weeks without a call, I must have passed. Essentially, the HORRIBLE wait that you and I are going through is, in a way, a good sign. If you're not being called, chances are you passed. Kroger takes forever, clearly. But these labs run through these tests fast, and THEY call if you fail. No call, no positive.

That is good to hear. I'm going through the same situation except I'm about 97.999% sure I failed because I smoked within 24 hours of the test (not the day of but it hadn't been a whole 24hrs. I smoked before they called about the interview and the interview was the next day so I basically felt ****ed since then and felt that I could only pass by some miracle. They seem very nonchalant about the importance of the test, as it is "Mandatory" that you pass before or they won't keep you...wtf I, just like you, think it's more to the story because it doesn't make sense to waste time and money on something that's detrimental to employment if you can WAIT TO HIRE UNTIL YOU GET RESULTS!!! So that's stupid. I took the test Wednesday, I had orientation today which is Sunday, also equally weird. But it interests me that you said the lab calls or they call immediately if you fail because I did read that but I also read that they call you within 24 hours if your results are negative...but that was about drug tests in general...idk, I'm just freaking out and nerve wrecked!

I have no problem with pot but why why WHY would you smoke right after putting in a job application and you are waiting for an interview call back?

You know you can smoke all you want AFTER they hire you, they don't do random drug tests... just saying.

And if management suspects an employee is on some form of drugs, regardless of what the drug test said when he/she was hired and regardless of how long he/she has been employee, management can pull the employee aside and tell the employee he/she needs to step into the office for an on the spot drug test. If the employee refuses, he/she can be terminated on the spot, at least in my division, and I'm pretty sure the union contract outlines that management is perfectly within its rights to do just that, no verbal or written warnings needed for the termination to happen.

I don't think any of us wants to be working with an employee that has drugs in his/her system. I don't care if that person comes into work and the effects of the drug has almost worn off. Even when a person is just partially or slightly under the influence of drugs, it elevates the the risk of on the job injury to the person that's under the influence as well as fellow co-workers and customers. Even if that person isn't operating power equipment such as the power jack or straddle stacker or slicing meat in the deli or pushing in a line of carts... all of which are particularly dangerous activities when still under the influence of drugs, even if it means the person's mind/senses are only slightly compromised, it still represents a safety/health risk.

I don't care what people do in their personal lives... but don't threaten the safety and well-being of others. If someone wants to do recreational drugs, fine, but just like recreational drinking, that person needs to do it in an environment that doesn't negatively impact others and shouldn't emerge from that environment until the effects have completely worn off.

I never said I smoked it. I honestly don't get the big thrill about it.

I didn't mean to encourage it either, I was mostly being sarcastic, because I really don't see someone who's like this lasting long enough to cause too much damage anyway. But Genesis does make a valid point. If you get hurt on the job, or hurt someone else, they're definitely going to test you and if you come back with drugs in your system, you're out of there even if you think the drugs didn't have anything to do with it.

Like I said I don't really get the big thrill of doing things like that to yourself anyway.

If only marijuana were our worst Krogrr threat.  I doubt it would make the top 20.

. . . don't threaten the safety and well-being of others.

Yes, Krogrr:

Stop covering up management misbehavior, including for a store director accused of physically assaulting an adolescent courtesy clerk.

Stop overwhelming a smallish store with loads of merchandise and pallets that wind up cluttering the halls and even regularly blocking fire exits.

Stop understaffing.  (See above.)

Stop throwing minors and other uncertified operators onto power equipment, especially on the old, poorly-maintained straddle stacker/crapper.  (There is no equipment certification process at this [names deleted] store.)

Stop emphasizing speed as virtually the only consideration and priority for workers.

Perspective . . . see?  If a little toke were our greatest threat, that would be a huge improvement over the daily danger Krogrr, in its abundant greed and negligence, subjects us to.

If lab called 2 weeks ago said I failed drug test. But manager called yesterday to come in for orientation today. Went in and did computer work but computer kept revolting my computer entries for W-4 form. They want me to come back on Monday to finish orientation. I could clock in and had no other problems. What does this mean?
