I at the end of last month I bought tickets to a three day (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) event next month. I asked for the days off in February, but the front-end manager said (s)he wouldn't even look at my request until the last moment but that there probably won't be a problem. I've been a courtesy clerk since the beginning of February, and though I haven't been there very long I've received compliments and thanks from customers, cashiers, other courtesy clerks, management and people from every department but pharmacy (I don't have much opportunity to interact with them), and I have no problem working any of the other 51 weekends of the year and will likely not ask for more than 7 days off a year including this 3 day weekend.... given all this, what do you think the chances of me getting the three day weekend are? (yes, I'm "anonymous the ranting coward"; I assume this forum is monitored and I make no assumption of upper management being benign.)
Make sure you ask for the days off on the Greatpeople.me site today.
If you don't have access to greatpeople.me, write your request on a note and give to your schedule maker.
My nephew did the same thing except someone with more senority wanted the days off. He called in but was later fired for poor attendance. It would not have been so bad if his attendance would have been better before calling in on that weekend!!
As the person above me said, go to greatpeople.me and request those days off. Your front-end manager will have to view and either approve or deny it before they can even make a schedule on eSchedule.
