Recently we just received a new keyboard layout on our registers and in the midst of that I am being moved to customer service. How Do you manually key in Manufacture coupons without an override and just using the mfr button? I knew how to do it on the older layout.
Be aware that in other places, you may have to scan the proper department code before entering the price. Unfortunately, the new department codes on the roller are different than what you may have been told before.
Press MFR Coupon
Scan proper department code from roller
Type in Price and hit Enter
Hit Clear, then Override, then Enter
we have no dept codes on the rollers and a recent conference called told us no one but supervisors can enter the dept codes for any reason including coupons that won't scan. they made us take them from the communication books. it's a pain in the butt if we don't know them or can't find a reference sheet
the new dept codes start 9999 and end with a two digit code for that dept
you will want this dept code sheet at the service desk

Wow, interesting. For us, we can scan the department codes, but if another coupon (whether MFR or not) is declined because of certain conditions (too many, not enough quantity, human error), we can no longer override it and have to call a supervisor for their decision.
Which, I think is a pain especially during busy times.

Does Kroger not realize that by making it a big PITA to do this stuff, most cashiers will just do a loyalty refund? I mean think about it. How many cashiers do you know that wake up and think, "Today after I go to high school to ace my classes, I will diligently work at the magical employer known as Kroger and try my best to embody the company's values." ? If Kroger is worried about their cashiers giving out a ****-ton of money to random people, then why do they even let them work as a cashier? Or why do they have the loyalty refund codes that even the worst cashiers know by heart? Newsflash, there aren't many teenagers hell-bent on disrupting their local Kroger's accounting records for the sole purpose of pissing off the CSM.
my cashiers don't know the codes for loyalty refunds. even stuff on the roller. out of sight, out of mind. they're kept in the dark which is ok with me of course we had a district meeting last fall saying we should encourage cashiers to vendor coupon so supervisors can spend time on other stuff.

Other stuff being...? Dictating traffic speeds of the scooter baskets?
