Resignation notice question
Permalink

Hi. I'm still in my probationary period and have been offered a job I applied for long before I applied for Kroger. I can't find any information on how long of a notice they require. I'm just a courtesy clerk but I'm going to be professional.
I should learn my start date soon at the new job.
Thanks

It's customary to give two weeks notice but many people don't, especially if they're new.  If you don't give two weeks notice, Kroger won't care.  They'll just replace you with another mindless automaton.

If ya can't give 2 weeks don't worry, in fact, i've seen them get snotty with people do when they're on probation.  Give 'em a call and say you got another opportunity, thanks.

I've also seen people with a few years of experience leave with no notice.  Or give two week notice and never show up again.

try to give two weeks, you never know if you'll need a fall back even if it's as bad as kroger. you're new so it's not a huge deal. talk to them.

i'd like to give two weeks but i'll be honest there are days i want to throw my name tag down and go never to be heard from again.  before i started with kroger such thing was horrifying but now i totally get why people do it.

some of those people go so far as to never shop kroger again.

I would give 2 weeks notice (verbal's fine), if possible. They may laugh at you and just tell you to go, but you'd be doing everything you can to leave on good terms.

 Exactly.

"Kroger" may not care whether you give proper notice or not, but I guarantee your hiring manager and dept head will definitely care.
