How long does a manager have to write you up. Is it 48 and 72 hours? What are the rules for Kroger and the Union?

10 days according to our contract.

10 days, unless evidence is revealed later that is compelling enough for termination. Like if it was discovered two weeks later that you had stolen something or deliberately damaged Kroger property.

In my contract specifically its 72 hours with the exception of the person being off.

Example: Sunday - Incident Monday - OFF - TUESDAY OFF - WEDNESDAY Shift = Write up

Sunday - Incident Monday Shift Tuesday - Shift Wednesday Shift Thursday too late

The contract says you have 10 days to grieve discipline. With few exceptions, most discipline (SIR, CAR, etc) is no longer considered timely after three shifts.

so yeah, if you got one more than three of your working days after the incident it refers to, have it thrown out.

It is a week in our contract.

Reminds me of the time the store manager called me in to hand me a write-up two weeks late.  Not only was it two weeks late, but he was trying to write me up for missing a day on my day off!  E schedule has made it easier to enter hours into kronos so that can't happen anymore!
