Well, just bend over backwards for them and swallow everything they shoot at you.

You'll be a manager in no time and be just like them.

If Ralph's is like Kroger, they post Level 4 positions in the break room all the time. Tell your store manager what you're interested in and maybe you can apply and receive a higher position.

There is a lot of factors that come into play. Race, gender do you have relative's in high places are you gay or straight. Ralphs you can go from service deli manager to keys then move up but honestly you're 20 years old you can do so much better than ralphs. One thing is they're a good company to work for while you to school. Also from what I've seen the rate kroger is closing down ralphs stores I don't see much of a future there they don't fit the Wal-Mart format that kroger seems to like.

If your attitude is anything like the Front End Managers and Supervisors of our store, forget it. You don't want to be like them. People who don't give a rat's ass about you as an employee because they know they can hire some poor sap to take your job before you are even out the doors. During my write-up the other day (I'm a courtesy clerk) I was essentially told "You can leave today and we can part ways and we are fine with that", "We told you what you would be doing when we hired you", basically they didn't care about the reasons for my behavior, just wanted me to admit to it and sign a piece of paper they wrote. I refused to sign and they noted that on the paper.

I have walked out of only one job in my entire life. Kroger almost became the second. The only reason I am staying is to see if there are openings in other departments and to find another job that hopefully pays better -- but I'd work Burger King, Taco Bell, any retail or restaurant job as long as I got more respect there than I am getting at Kroger, which is zero.

If you think you can hack it as supervisor or management and not "lose your soul" into your work and the company then I encourage you to go out for it. But be wary because I work for *******s and I don't think they were really *******s when they started years ago.

You want to be a Ralphs store manager huh?  Are you ready to falsify SS numbers and hire back workers if there is a lockup.  Are you able to through phones and 12 packs of pop at your "associates".  Well if you are I'm sure there is a co-manager training program out there.  Never tell anyone in your store you want to be a store manager they will either laugh at you or think you are above them.  Just keep it to yourself and move forword

not all store managers are like that some cried and some quit during that time.  its sad though that once a great company it will never recover from that lockout.

When was Ralph's a great company?  1950? 1960? Before the 30 million dollar lawsuits for store manager harassment?  Before the changing of SS number to hire back locked out workers.  Before Kroger had to restate 2002 earnings because to accounting errors at Ralph's?
