My friend watches it religiously. He tried to get me to watch it, due to me being a dragon freak. He told me there is this queen/princess and she has about 3 baby dragons she thinks of as her kids.

You should definitely give it a shot, dragons are a central element to the plot and it's a pretty great show in general.
