Store secretary threatening to write someone up? How can this be?

So we recently got our "Taste of Mexico" aprons in the deli.  They wouldn't let us wear the ugly ass shirts, just the aprons.  Well one of the guys in the deli asked if he could have a shirt instead and our store secretary, asp, hr person or what ever the hell she calls herself threatened to write him up if he wore one of the shirts.  Since when did someone other than a manager have the power to write someone up?

Why the hell would he be written up for wearing one of the shirts that we are supposed to wear for the company-wide promotion?

I don't think they can but they can refer a manager to write him up.

But in my store we had so many extra shirts that us in the deli and bakery got them too. Screw the aprons. :D

For some reason our deli and bakery weren't allowed to wear the shirts.  Just the aprons.

I think they can ONLY make a suggestion to management. If the manager refuses to do so, then it's their choice. However, she can make life difficult for that guy she threatened to write up as a "get you back" it's been done at my store. Crazy guy on a power trip. FE supervisor. Threatened to write someone up and they asked managemt to. Management refused because it wasn't anything worth writing up. FE supervisor made life a hell of a lot more difficult for guy he wanted to write up.

They can't do anything to you. Not even worth your trouble in calling HR or the union. Are we really that childish that we call someone everytime we are threatened? Call them out - YOU HAVE NO POWER HERE!!!
