I work at a kroger in texas and i work two jobs. At kroger and at a security company. One day when i was suppose to be at kroger i was called in to work a new position at my security job. I forgot to tell kroger about it until the next day. Now i have not been scheduled for this whole week. I have read on other posts that they cant fire you on the phone only while on the clock. Is this true or should i be ready to find another job?
In my contract they have to schedule you at least 15 hours. Claim someones hours. We get three no call no shows in a 6 month period before we get fired. Did they give you a verbal warning?
If you have a restriction on your schedule you are not guaranteed any hours. They will say that there "were no hours to give in the time frame provided" It's a dick move, but that's what they will say.

Depends on the contract. Ours guarantee 15 hours a week and employees with restricted availability are not exempt from claiming. He should claim some hours if he can. I claimed hours this week. Was told all kinds of BS as to why the hours scheduled were like they were. All of them lies. Know your contract!!!!
Sounds like you weren't out of your probationary period. If you can't commit to being at the job, you're better off quitting. No call no showing not only screws the store over, but your co-workers as well.
