Hey , I'm having an issue at the Kroger I work at. I was sick during the week of 6/15/14 - current and I was scheduled 4 days that week. I worked 3 days and called off one that week. The following Sunday 6/23/14 I worked 2 hours and I was feeling terrible, so my father came to get me from work at 2am since I work night crew and took me to the emergency. I text my supervisor immediately and informed her that I left work in the middle of my shift 12am-8:30am. The doctors gave me a note saying that I could not return to work until 7/5/2014. After I was discharged, the following morning I called and informed my manager that I was at the hospital and that after I rested I would bring the doctors note to them the following day, which I did and my manager said okay. When I brought my doctors note to my job to give to my manager he and the other 3 managers were not present. Or I could not find them, I asked fellow employees to page them to the front office. I waited for 45 minutes in the office, now mind you I was sick as ever and I really wasn't feeling too hot. So I left and went home. I returned to work on 7/3/14 and worked a whole shift 12am-830am and my new store manager whom I've never met requested that I had a meeting with him that morning. They suspended me for unexcused absences on 7/3/14. But since I informed him of the circumstances he wrote on it RTS (Refused to sign) because he felt it was on them and that I could return to work the following week after I provided proof that I spoke with a manager and brought the doctors note. It's 7/15/14 and I haven't been on the schedule since then and I'm still employed there, and I was not paid for the 8hrs I worked on the 3rd.

How can you be suspended for an unexcused absence on 7/3 when you said you worked your whole shift 12am-8:30 am?  You had a doctors note excusing you until 7/5 but you went to work anyway on 7/3.  File a grevience.
