All new employees should receive new handbooks when they are hired in. Where are you located? At the stores in my area, employees are given handbooks, union information and uniforms at the same time. As far as training goes, that's par for the course. With hours cut now, it's going to be worse. What dept. do you work in? Do you have a
Union Steward? He/she should be able to go to mgmt and get you a handbook if they will not get you one. Good luck!

i work at kroger ware house in memphis tn as a , i been there for years and i been ask for a hand book , because  this certain manager name mike york  i think , he take kroger rule and twist it to his advantage to get at empolyee who don't agree with him. other workers conplain to, they don't know the rules them self. if i knew kroger handbook policy i will be better equip to deal with his crookness, but because there is no handbook, then i dont't know what is true and right , or if mike just making something up.  everybody just going alone with it.  nobody  knows the rule , i think somethink need to be done about this crookness in management. Cincinnati, ohio don't have a clue how bad , crooked some managers are in memphis ware housedohcry

Sorry, but they do not hand out books. I've been with this company for many years and books disappear. Management throws them away or they may put one in the office and that one disappears , and when something's happens, it is always go to your employee book and when you say you do not have one, it is always " what do you mean, you signed for it" and it is always yes, but you never gave them out. And by the way, calling that person stupid and an idiot is employee harassment, so why don't you look that up in your hand book!.

My store doesn't give out employee handbooks or uniforms.

I asked about getting a handbook, and my manager was completely baffled.  She consulted with an office person, and I got a pile of loose leaf printouts.  It was two pages per sheet, one from the back of the handbook and one from the front.  Kind of strange.

I work at kroger and I keep getting my hours claimed because I'm new. I don't see how they can do that and I can't claim anyones hours until I have worked there for 3 months and if I have more senority over that person. I'm only getting like 8 hours a week because of other employes taking my hours even though in the hand book it said you can't claim someone's hours if it is going to bring them below 12 hours but management still approves it..... What should I do I think thy need to change that rule about claiming people's hours that is really stupid i have never heard any kind of stupid stuff like that taking others peoples hours for no reason

You need to find a union rep in your store and tell them what's happening. Claiming hours is a perk of having some seniority but it sounds like it's going way too far.

The company does hand out handbooks when you are hired. Anyone that tells you different is a liar. I have been working there for almost 3 years now and not even 3 months after being hired I realized that the company is all about favorites. The managers in EVERY department plays it. You have to kiss ass to work your way up to the top. The managers do NOT give hours by seniority like the handbook says, they rather give the hours to their favorite employee. I suggest to not work for Kroger's and they are a waste of time.

I think I still have mine somewhere but it was gibberish.  Said contradictory things and included statements like the hand book can be entirely voided one minute by company whim and reinstated with secret additions the next!  Company is candidate for the booby hatch.

Chaos and shell game in effect secretly at all times. kroger only takes in information and tries not to let anyone know anything. "Mentoring" is a traditional way around the training part.  Someone who does not want to get stuck with every task and is nice might help.  kroger makes random changes and spreads them by word of mouth so the learning process goes on.
