i am trying to locate any employment records for my grandfather for a historical perspective on his life. He worked for Kroger down on State Ave. in Cincinnati in the late 1930s to early 1940s. Any suggestions? I have reached out to corporate, but have not heard anything back . He is deceased.
Anyway, start off with federal agencies like Social Security or Census Bureau to see if they have anything on your father's employer, meaning if that Kroger he worked for has remained intact, or had its assets liquidated form all of those mergers.
Kroger's HR should be also be able to help, kind of. Have you tried going into a store and asked to talk to HR or ASP? Ask them if there's a place for you to start looking at.
Highly doubt whatever store (if it's still standing) has any records on hand. Hell, I heard it wasn't til the 80s all that new fangled technology got put into stores. And retail establishments across the country have not upgraded since!
