I've never heard of it.  I've heard you can buy stock through Kroger that is separate from a 401k but why would you when you can in your 401

I would like to know what happened to the" Kesop" stock that was given to employees for being a loyal Kroger employee during the years of restructuring.

It was stock that could only be redeemed after ending employment. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE KESOP STOCK?
