union says my resignation from membership does not affect your check off obligation that we will insist your employer continue to honor.... What does that mean??

You better join the union again. Its cheap insurance to have good representation. Kroger will screw you at their first chance

I wonder if it means it takes an act of congress to stop being charged union dues...:( That will suck if that is what the letter means.
On the bright side, it could mean you still have the same protection as union members but no voting rights.
