Today was supposed to be my day off, I worked 6 days in a row last week so it was my first day off but the other cut fruit wanted to switch since they were asked to come in on their day off, fine whatever 7 days in a row. So I get there and of course we're completely out of watermelon, like there was none at all even for customers and the truck hadn't gotten there, so I start on pineapple, a couple of boxes in I see 1 ant. Not a big deal right? I pick up another pineapple, oh crap there is a ton of them and I am allergic to them! I had to quickly remove my gloves which already had some from the 1 pineapple, I had to go get help since I can't risk getting bitten and the whole rest of my day i kept thinking "I'm not even supposed to be here today" yep I had a clerks moment.
Ants and the venom from bees and wasps, I use to be ok when I was a kid never had a reaction until I was a teenager, but bee stings send me to the hospital and ants cause big purple welts that are itchy and severely painful, it's not fun at all. Mostly we only have flies and gnats, I might see 1 or 2 ants once in a while but not like this, doesn't help we had extra pineapple for some reason so they were going bad which just attracts more bugs :(
