Even though I have been hired and placed into Drug/GM I will be training on computer for cashier? Any season pro's want to clue me in how this runs? Do I get a kiddie register to practice on after I pass? A step by step would be helpful. Thanks!

BTW: It took everything in my power not to mention that the word ORIENTATION was spelled incorrectly on the whiteboard. I figure after 40 years I will have my student loan for my useless MBA paid for, right? HA.

Can't really speak for you since I haven't worked in Drug / GM but I did giggle at your 'do I get a register to practice on.'
Kroger is about throwing you into the pool and reminding you that you just watched a video on how to swim, and, if you don't remember it, to just hold your breath. Forever.

Just going by my own experiences in Front End, m'dear.
A few weeks in to my employment and I asked to re-watch the videos.
I was told "You already watched them and should know what to do."

And I had to learn, on my own, where to take go-backs and damaged to for each department.
I had to learn, on my own, the chain of command and whom worked where.
I had to learn, on my own, where each department is located, where it stops, where it begins.
I had to learn, on my own, that my manager's style of bagging was bullcrap.

Etc.

Kroger will show you a video and expect you to absorb it like a robot.
Then if you don't do it the way you are supposed to, you are malfunctioning and require reprogramming in the form of a write-up, termination or meeting with management.

Yes, it should look like this:

I can't remember taking CBT for the register.  I have taken the ID CBT.  CBT is computer training.  Then, I ran register for a few hours with the help of a seasoned employee.  They never asked me to run one again!

You were hired for Drug/GM.  When it gets too busy for lack of front end workers, you will be asked to stop your Dr/GM work to run a register until the busy slows down because Que vision is in a dip.  Then, your manager will demand to know why you didn't get your Dr/GM tasks done.  Being a relief cashier is no excuse!

I am not sure how your store managers are.  Some want the customers taken care of at the register and know the stock work will get done eventually.  Others ignore that you just spent half your shift on the register and like to fuss about you not getting enough work done.

Don't get stressed, try to play dumb, Smile for the customers, ignore the low pay and try to enjoy the job the best you can.
