Yup. In my division they are. They have to allow 8 hours in between shifts or I get paid double time.

Actually, post the hours you are being scheduled. That might be a split shift which is not ok.

Its 4am -8 am for tagging then 8pm- midnight as a bagger.

I brought it up to the front end manager and they said they literally had no one else...

I do not know. Hopefully a seasoned employee will know if that is considered a split shift. It also will depend on your contract. What state are you in?

I'd love to see your schedule to see how they can manage to put those different hours on the same day.

Its TN. I dont really think out of 20 other front end employees im the only one who can be closing bagger.. i always get screwed up schedules cause I have open availability

If you are in the Nashville division, you are in the same local as me. My contract states no split shifts will be scheduled, but when it does happen, it's the same as being scheduled 2 days without the minimum rest time of 10 hrs; you'll get OT for the 2nd shift.

Should I bring it up to the managers? The front end manager doesn't really care, they just start complaining about their jobs.

I asked for the tagging hours cause i prefer it to front end, but I guess maybe I shouldn't have.
