Most likely you'll make 8.15, unless your contract has been renegotiated lately to account for the wage increase. Cheer up, that's 15 cents on the hour! If you work hard and save up, you can get a lollipop.

I wish. You'll be making the same as those who just started working. I could be wrong, but, the same thing happened when the last minimum wage increase took place.

And this is why increasing the minimum wage is ****ing retarted. Everything ends up becoming more expensive anyway.

I don't think agree. Inflation is generally going to happen over time in any growing economy, and as long as the US keeps growing in population, it's going to see increases in demand as well as supply all across the board. If the minimum wage was never raised along with it, the minimum wage would still be where it began at: $0.25 an hour.

There's never going to be a magical point in time where minimum wage is just "set" at the most reasonable place for all time, unless the economy comes to a complete plateau (as in, population stabilizes at a fixed number and inflation comes to zero). That's never happened, and while theoretically one day it might, that day is very obviously not now, so the minimum wage needs to go up.

For the record: Reading your posts tells me you are highly educated, why in the hell are you still a Kroger employee? Are you still attending school waiting escape? Or...are you a manager masquerading as a "worker bee?"

This may seem like a backhanded complement to you, and if it does it was not my intention. Enlighten this college graduate. confuse

Sincerely,

Another college graduate working her way up...
