Assistant Customer Service Manager Position
Permalink

Currently, I'm a front-end supervisor/office helper. The other day, my front-end manager asked me if I wanted to train to be an assistant customer service manager. In the past, I've never really been interested in the position because it's stressful as ****, but the pay is really good. Any thoughts on the position?

If you're already full time or plan on becoming full time, take it. If you have another job or are in school then be careful. This position WILL become your life.

This.

If your CSM is one who does their job well, isn't lazy, is responsible, follows through on commitments, etc, then the job may be for you. If not, you'll be almost overwhelmed all day every day.

Being VERY technically proficient in every area of the front end (acct, CS desk, SCO, checklanes, etc.) is an absolute must.

I'd go for it. Basically you've been doing the same job for less pay anyway.

I realize there's more responsibilities in being ACSM but i think it'd be worth a shot.

Haha if that's a must I dunno how my CSM got to where she's at now.  She's a basket case.  I've been asked to be her ACSM but dread the idea.

Don't do it! I'm an ACSM in Columbus Division and I wouldn't wish the stress on my worst enemy. The pay is nice, but not worth the stress of always having to have the answer. I do have it most of the time but it gets old/annoying quick. Especially when you have to do it 40 hours a week.

I just got out of the new training program for ascm. I love working for the Kroger company but..with all of the New procedures, improving OSAT, quevision and all of that other good stuff..it's really exhausting. I work for the Cincinnat-Dayton division. If you are willing to sacrifice all of your time to Kroger and you love the challenge of a fast paced environment that does'nt slow down from the time you clock in until the time you clock out....this job is for you. I have 2 kids I only see about 3 hours a day unless it's my off day. Very time consuming, but worth it if you want to successfully make it in This company. Good luck.
