What the heck
Permalink

I work my a$$ off cutting fruit, I finally get scheduled for more than fruit and I kicked a$$! I got scheduled for more again and again I kicked a$$, my manager was so thrilled he was bragging to everyone how good I was and how fast I got things done, I was so fast I had to ask him for more work. I thought "woohoo my manager knows I'm a hard worker and will start scheduling me more" nope...

I talked to him about it and he said my main job is cut fruit, he's gonna hire somebody else to do the other stuff and yet the other cut fruit had a butt ton of hours where she's working produce and nutrition, I was all "what the heck am I doing busting my butt for this" just another day in the wonderful world of kroger...

lolololol

You didn't kiss enough ass.

Really, I've been there.

I did better in Grocery than Dairy (though none of them were terrible). Yet instead of having me move to day stock immediately (there was no one working morning grocery at the time), they kept me in dairy and waited for the job fairs to roll along to "find" someone. Ah well. Their loss, though.

They probably liked what you did on cut fruit vs the other girl.

You are only there to be used- they love some young buck that comes in and kicks butt - that way they can schedule less hours and make their wage budget. And if you hadn't heard there's a 27 hr avg limit so you will remain part time with NO BENEFITS.

It will never improve- The KR company just reported more record earnings and now project even larger profit for the rest of the year- that's the bottom line- you're just a number to them and you make the same as the slow slacker working alongside you- so an inspired, energetic person like yourself should work for yourself in a job where your productivity makes you more money and provides enough to afford Obamacare insurance.

It's kind of stupid really, the other girl is better at fruit and I'm better at the other stuff, but I honestly think my manager doesn't like to have women do to much, I know for a fact that I can do the produce clerk job very well and so does he but I also know that he is only pulling applications for guys... I'm giving it until after the holidays just because I know the hours will work for me if I get scheduled for the holidays, 4-8am or 5-9am would leave me plenty of time to still do my family get together and parties that I go to every year. If nothing changes before or after that, then I am totally looking elsewhere so I can get a better job. it just gets to me that I get so few hours while the other cut fruit gets 40+ the past few weeks and she's still technically part time, just feels like a lot of BS to me.

You can "think" your going to get more hours but in the end you may get less. Thanks to e-schedule and how krogers works i would suggest you never get use to getting a set amount of hours. This past two weeks i have gotten about 20 hrs.

As others have said you can work your ASS off and never get any positive remarks with this company. Your just another worker.
