Quitting

I'm getting sick of my job at Kroger. I don't really need the money right now and with the stress of college and working over 30 hours a week I'm constantly in a bad mood or exhausted. I'm also incredibly pissed off because I was scheduled two days off this weekend. However, my manager decided that they needed me on Friday. They didn't ask me if I wanted the shift, they just gave it to me. I tried to tell them I had plans and didn't want it. Since now I only get one day off. It's also a shift that starts at 9 am and I worked until midnight so I won't get any sleep. Should I just not show up? I really want to quit. Should I give notice or will I be ok if I just stop coming to work?

Ask for less hours... You're a student they'll understand. And no, never just stop showing up. That's rude and inconsiderate. Lastly, if they don't give you less hours, you can turn in your two week notice. I don't think working here is worth having health issues.

P.S. If you're in a contract like mine, where 10 hours is minimum rest period, then you will get overtime the whole day. :)

Ask for less hours.

I did that during my time with them. I worked on days I didn't have class.

I had to quit a month ago though because at this point, I had a class six days a week.

Always document. Phone pixs are good! Saying that, I'll take your hours! I go to school, work odd night and day hours, raise a kid alone and never would say, " I don't need the money." Good for you.

be lucky you got 30 hours a week.

when I was working for kroger I would only get like 7 to 12 hours a week. I go in at 5am some days two hours later I be done and get sent home same goes for the next day it wasnt even worth the gas money to drive to work every week. So I just didn't come back the following week was already working a 2nd job so wasnt worried about it.
