After a long time we finally got one and she's driving me nuts. Instead of hanging back and seeing how we do things, she's decided everything needs to be exactly like at her old (tiny) Kroger that she came from. She's threw away stuff that we've used for 7+ years yesterday and prompted the other assistant head deli to yell at her. She screams at us about the approved products we use for doing the dishes. She yells about the way we normally make party trays too. I don't know what her issue is, but she needs to calm the hell down and realize we're not going to change to accommodate her.
Sounds exactly like our new FE manager. All the supervisors (myself included) loathe her because of how "by the Kroger book" she is. Management loved her because she promised to get strict with us since she's from a more "big city" store where the front end and customers are assembled from various hoodlums, and make us do everything Kroger officially wants us to (yay pointless daily huddles teaching us the 3 A's while there's lines errywhere!). It was a quick love affair after seeing our QueVision & OSAT drop by double digits. Turns out, sometimes listening and learning from other employees who have actually "been there, done that" works wonders, instead of being a bossy know-it-all.
Anyways, good luck to you, hopefully she'll mellow out as time goes on, they sometimes do. If not, traaaansfer time @_@
You couldn't pay me enough to work in the Deli at my store. The head deli has some common sense but the rest, all I can say is wow. If it gets slow in here I might have to tell some stories.
Sounds like a girl I use to work with at a small store. I transferred back to the bigger store I came from and a year later this girl followed me. She always says we wasn't trained to to do that at the old store. I have to constantly tell her that 90% of stuff she learned at that store was wrong. It was a store that failed all it's Key Refailing inspections while I was there and was lucky to not get shut down by the health department.
