Had orientation Tuessay. (Starbucks) I got really nervous because everyone got EUIDs but me. She told me I would get mone soon but my background check hadn't come back yet. I have some arrests. Charges were dismissed but they still show up so I figured I was screwed.
I got a call Wednesday from another place to interview on Thursday. Went and got hired on the spot. Full time. $10/hr to start Monday. I took it because I still hasnt heard from Kroger and she said she'd be calling me the next day to setup computer training.
She calls Thursday night. I did my computer training today and they've got me scheduled next week. The schedules totally clash and its not possible to juggle both.
So can I technically claim that I worked for Kroger? I should be getting paid Thursday right?
If you went in and had computer training, you should get paid for those hours.
You need to call whoever hired you at Kroger and let them know you accepted a job with another company and will not be able to work for Kroger at this time. Focus your time and energy on that job.
Kroger might not give you another shot at employment.

Under my union contract I won't make $10 an hour until June 2016. I was hired in 2011. So it's taking me 5 years at Kroger to make $10 an hour. Don't even think about working at Kroger.
Don't even give them the pleasure of calling them. In fact, next time you go into that Kroger store, take the time to move items around on the shelf, then spill coffee all over the starbucks lobby.

That's terrible. We had a courtesy clerk who's worked here since the store was opened(2002) still making 7.35 an hour who just got a job at a distribution center(non kroger) for 16 an hour, needless to say he quit immediately lol.

Unless you've got some kind of disability I can't see being CC for ten plus years.
OP just give em a call and let them know whats up. You will get paid. Expect some huffiness when you pick up your check. Enjoy.
