I  have  heard  several    different  time frames.    What is   the probation period?   I  have  heard   30, 45, 90 days  and 120?   I  am  in North Texas   Local-1000.    my hire  date  is  Oct 18th..   Once   my  probation  is up,  what  happens  then?    thanks  for your  time    and Happy Holidaysd6lq9

Hmm... if I recall correctly my probation was for 45 days (also in N. Texas).


Too lazy to do the math, but it should be over sometime next week.

 Yup, total of 45 days whether you're working or not.

 

 

Actually, my probation started on the day of orientation, not my first work date. But yes, days off do count towards probation.

To answer the question "what happens then?", you can't get fired on the spot except for serious offenses. If you are a union member (and possibly even if you're not), you have to be written up 3 times for the same offense during a 90 day period to get terminated. During probation, you can get fired on the spot.

Enjoy your Probe-bation period. They love to probe you as far up your corn hole as they can. What happens after probation? Just show up and you'll never get fired.

Forty-five calendar days, as noted by a couple of participants here.  See page two, Section 2.02A of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

As far as what might be different, maybe we each can get a second shirt.
