I went online to check my paystub and Kroger has screwed up my paycheck. This time they paid me 1 hour too much. I worked 7 hours on Thanksgiving Day, but was scheduled 8 hours. They let us go an hour early since the store closed at 4:00 pm and they had us scheduled until 5:00 pm. I clocked in and out that day so why they paid the extra hour I don't know. You know they didn't just decide to give us that extra hour we were scheduled to work and let us go home early.
I called to report it this morning (3 times) but nobody is answering the phone in the service center. I want to go ahead and get this cleared up so they can adjust my check next week and get it over with. I don't want to have to check each week from now on to see if they caught it.
It's always something.

Me, personally, I wouldn't have said one word. i could definitely use the extra money during the holidays. But that's just me.
But they could eventually catch it and take it out of another check. I just want to go ahead and clear it up now and get it over with. It's under $10 even with the extra premium pay, I've only been with Kroger 3 years lol!
With how little they pay I wouldn't say anything. Then when they do catch it later and try to take money out, then complain to them about doing that. It isn't your fault they screwed up. You shouldn't have to pay for their mistakes.
I think they have to pay you for it. That is how the schedule was released on Saturday at noon, so they have to pay you for as many hours as you were scheduled (unless it was your idea to oeave early).

Um, no, they don't. You get paid for the hours you work.
In the Louisville Division, if you show up for work as scheduled and they decide they don't need you that day, they have to pay you for 4 hours work. Ms. White may want to read a copy of her contract under the section where it talks about scheduling and holidays. Since she didn't leave on her own, she may be entitled to that extra hour's pay.
Same with us. If they force us to leave earlier than scheduled, say we were supposed to have a 10-2 shift, and they made us leave at 12, then they MUST pay us the 4 hours.
But I remember reading something like that in my handbook that we should get paid at least for 4 hours' work even if they ask us to leave early. Take a look.
True, my contract states they have to pay me at least 4 hours. I got paid for 7 hours, I left an hour early. I think our new FEM messed up the schedule. He had us all working until 5:00 pm and the store closed at 4:00 pm so they let us all go at 4:00. I thought it was kinda cruel to make us stay an hour after closing on Thanksgiving Day.
I guess I will talk to my union steward when I go in today and see what she says.

Well there's the very large possibility they wouldn't have noticed... It's not like they would be able to demand interest on that money in a future check, just the original amount. And even then there's probably some deadline by which they'd be able to recoup it.
We had one guy who use to work there and he got a better job. Well his last check had him paid $100.00 more than it should have been. He kept quiet about it, and didn't answer Kroger's calls about too much money. They tried getting him through mail and he never replied back. (He moved). The guy was a self absorbed know it all and I'm tempted to tell them where he moved to so they can get him, but it's not my business.

If Kroger *really* wanted to, they'd find him. But it'd probably cost more than $100.

Bad karma, he's not going to like it when that comes back to him lol!
