Hi, quick question. I grew up in the the bread and butter of Kroger, right down in the Cincinnati area and have recently moved to Tennessee. I have a moral problem with unions (it's personal) but I was wondering do employees in the state of tennessee have to join unions for kroger? I have always been fond of kroger, but the only thing that has kept me from applying was the union thing. I have looked up the law and it states
§ 50-1-201. Denial of employment because of affiliation or nonaffiliation with labor union. It is unlawful for any person, firm, corporation or association of any kind to deny or attempt to deny employment to any person by reason of such person's membership in, affiliation with, resignation from, or refusal to join or affiliate with any labor union or employee organization of any kind. (Enacted 1947.)
However, I would like to know from someone who actually works at kroger, I am not required to join a union should I apply and be accept a position at the Kroger company? Thank you, Anonymous
