Eh. It might be enough. It'll be pretty dead Tue-onward until maybe Sat.
You're kidding, right? We're budgeted for busy days thru wed. Wed issupposed to be the busiest day this week, with $212,000 without fuel or pharmacy. That beats the day before thanksgiving.

Beating the day before thanksgiving? Wow, here it's not even that close with christmas eve being second place. We're budgeted $140,000 without fuel We did $170,000 on the day before thanksgiving. That is counting RX though.
The whole store will be busy Christmas eve with all the people trying to get everything at the last minute. They think because the store is closed the next day they gotta panic and buy out the whole store.
They cut hours in the bakery department at my store. There's five full time people who each got 32 hours. One part time person also got 32 hours. The three remaining part time people split the remaining 27 hours between them. That's 9 hours each for the entire week. We need about 320 hours during a holiday week. They only gave us 219. Things aren't getting done. This morning I found a channel cart of pies in the retarder that didn't get boxed last night. That already put us behind. I had to finish bagging the bread because the person doing it didn't get it all done before leaving. Between the bread and the pies I was about 2 1/2 to 3 hours behind in my work. Even one extra person would have been a big help. Two people would have been great. Tomorrow will be more of the same. There is one thing. I know there's not going to be any pies or anything else left from the night before waiting for me to box them up becaue I made sure everything was done before I left.
Safe to say that Christmas Eve's the supermarket's version of Black Friday.
You should have seen our store today. It was like the entire goddamned city decided that Wal-Mart, Ingles and Food Depot all had cooties. So they came here. We couldn't keep up with carts in the main lobby. Ran out several times. A courtesy clerk on every register, sometimes more.
And Que-Vision looking like an Olympic judges table all damn day, 10 10 10. I swear our store must make at least $500,000 a day.

Well, let me say that I looked at the wrong day on the budget when I said this. That was Tuesday's budget. And we reached it. When I checked about 9 last night, my conservative math put us at $215,000 so far for the day. Without fuel or rx. Fortunately today is only budgeted for like $164k

Our store is smaller, so our Que-Vision looked more like a slot machine with all the 7's. But it wasn't nearly as bad yesterday as it's gonna probably be tonight, especially with stores closing at 7 at the latest (mine closes at 5).
I used to dread seeing Que Vision go up to 9 because that was the highest it could go at my previous store. Now, it goes all the way up to 13 at the store I'm at. That's where it was today when I left. Truly a nightmare before Christmas.
We had eleven courtesy clerks out on the lot. A bit of overkill perhaps, but after we ran out of carts once at around 11:00AM, we weren't going to run out again! We still had baggers inside, so we could spare them to keep both entrances full.
Never would I be a last minute shopper like all these crazy people. If I didn't work retail, I wouldn't be anywhere near a store this week. These people are nuts to subject themselves to this madness.
