This is why when I used to close, I had a checklist that I created myself and ran through when I closed up. It included every door that needed to be checked and some other things, and when I locked the front door, I had two employees verify and SIGN the sheet that I did so. I did that to cover my ass more than Kroger's. I've seen this happen often enough that I was paranoid I'd do it.
