I have been working at store 466 fuel center for 6 years and I'm still on bites.i have seniority over 2 people and union told them that I have seniority, but they don't follow rules.how come.i should be able to work mid shift or days but no they give it to coworker.i work the hardest than them.
What are you saying.that because I do everything that Kroger requires of me and I do it very well,is that it's my fault for taking pride in my work.the problem with Kroger is that they let the people that is working to draw a check get away with everything.the people that earn a check get the bad end.bull **** I say.

Funny. You know who else says that? Hardline union members who clamor about seniority. ;)
And remember, is it not the unions who proposes, negotiates, and signs off on the contract regarding work conditions? In effect, you're bashing the system that the union has placed to "help" the workers. If Kroger had their way, they'll do what the professional firms and companies have done over and over: get rid of the lazy bums who complain about who gets what just because they've been around longer.

My contract says I can claim an earlier shift if I want. You could check your contract. I was always told there were no openings on the day shift. They just wanted me on the night shift to close because I'm a hard worker and had been with Kroger awhile. I always worked nights 4 - 12. So, I changed my availability and I'm now working the day shift. Funny how they found the day hours for me. Alot of weeks cashiers with less seniority get more hours than me, but they are working the nights and it's ok with me. It all usually evens out.

I'm a pro-union member and I don't make a fuss about my seniority :P
