For those of you who have worked for at least a year with Kroger, how much did you make? Does not have to be exact, but please keep it close to the nearest one thousand.
My first year as a cc got me about 7,750 net pay. My first four months I got less that 16 hours. My rate was 7.30 (Baggers are capped at 7.50) and our dues were 7.20 a week plus $50 one time initiation. (Kroger Louisville 024 division) I'm now a front end clerk and get about 25-30 hours a week even during the first few months of the year which are slow and hours are reduced. Our minimum wage also goes up to $9 over the course of two years and I believe our new union contract will significantly raise the rates because of that. I hear our rates are pretty generous compared to other contracts. Front End clerks top out at about $11.40 right now after 6 1/2 years of service.
To compare, another major Louisville employer is UPS, and their start rate is $11 an hour and you are top rate at $14 an hour. BUT there's a catch: A friend of mine said you only get about 22 hours a week unless you've been there for 10+ years, then maybe you can sign up for the 6 hour sheet and you still aren't full time. If Kroger raises our rates, compensation will actually be better than UPS.
The potential is there, you just have to ride it out.
For 2014, I made ~$27,000. But my position changed and this year it's going to look close to about $45,000 or maybe a little under that. It really depends on how much overtime there is and which jobs I am scheduled for, since I have 4 different pay rates between them. I work for the manufacturing division of Kroger, which is really a whole different side of Kroger than the retail side.
Ummm... who makes more than $39,000 working at Kroger. I am topped out at $14.20 (working 40 hours per week), and my last W2 said somewhere around the ballpark of $27,000.

You must have just topped out because $14.20 X 40 hrs a week X 52 weeks = $29,536.
Whore I made about 12 grand gross, and that was being on-call 24/7 picking up every possible shift I could grab. By the way, Kroger will never compensate cashiers/stockers NEARLY as well as UPS, Fedex, or any other freight company compensates their dock workers and material handlers. Why? Because the dock workers have real unions (excluding YRC Holland's pathetic Teamster locals). Cashiers/stockers at Kroger have the UFCW.
