Severe Mis Management

This is a billion dollar company severely mis-managed! I couldn't take the anxiety of working there.  I don't believe I stayed 3 years...A waste.  First off the schedule it is not made until Friday and not posted till noon and does not show up on-line till after 2pm on Saturday. Yes and you may have to work on Sunday! About a year or so ago they introduced E-schedule what a waste of money and time. It changed for a few months then went right back to the way it was before.

I was in produce. When I first started there were 16 people in the dept. By the time I left there were a total of 8 left.  When no someone quit or retired they made everyone left work twice as hard to fill the vacancies. Occasionally they would hire one or two people who lasted a couple of weeks.  The work was back breaking.

The management was horrible.  Everyone would do just what they wanted to do.  If they didn't want to do something they didn't do it.  The worst run company I have ever seen! Customers have no idea what the employees go thru.  They need to know!

The pay was the worst I have ever seen.  Minnium wage at best with raises of 10 cents, or 20.

Maybe if the customers knew what the employees went thru they would think before they shop there.

One of the biggest fallacies and misinformation that I've come across is embedded right there.

Customers don't give two cents about how their products get to them, as long as it's in their terms. Customers have long been shown what it takes to make the latest gadgets, yet sales are at their highest in years. Customers ARE aware of how our salary is pennies on the dollar compared to theirs, yet the best they'll tell you is to "have a good day". Believe me, they're aware that we're severely underpaid and understaffed. But if it means them not paying an extra 50 cents for the can of soup, then they won't care about how a business conducts itself.

As for you, why sign up for the job? There are other places that pay more than Kroger. Why tell the people paying you how to run their business, when you're more than welcome to move somewhere else?

About the last month before i left I didnt interact much with customers unless i had to. There are customers that will be civil to you but the rest wont look at you, treat you like an idiot if you are out of something, or those that just want to let loose on you. They want their products and at times you just want to get them what they want so they will leave you alone.

its a sad fact they dont care about you so dont put any more energy than you need to if you choose to stay with this company!
