Time to have some fun

So I recently quit my job at a store across the state and moved down to the city.  I still have my uniforms and box cutter.  I burned the bridge already, so I don't care if I get banned from King Soopers/ City Market or any other Kroger.  So now it's time to have some fun on my day off.  I'm going to dress up as an employee, go into some random King Soopers with a can of soda and a sandwich, then just stand there in the middle of the dairy aisle and drink the soda and do absolutely nothing.  Eventually, hopefully some manager will come bark at me, at which point I will be a smart ass and talk back to his face.  I will pretend to be a brand new employee that they haven't met yet.  My goal is to get "fired" before they realize I don't actually work there.

This, folks, is why the general public looks down on retail employees.

You're making it harder for the other people who just wanna work. Go die in a ditch, OP.

Management shouldn't be yelling at employees on the floor. OP is doing a service. You go OP!

Employees shouldn't be taunting and pushing their management team into using excessive disciplinary measures. You're an idiot, OP.

Your goal is to get fired from somewhere you don't even work? People like you are the reason that retail workers aren't respected properly. Get off your parents' couch and get a job you parasite.

Rather than smarting off to his "manager" and risk being physically removed from the store, (and yes it CAN and WILL happen if management feels threatened, and not anything can be done about it), why not just don't go in the store? OP is risking trouble if he goes through with this. And talking security and police trouble if it escalates

Everyone needs to chill out.
Like the op said, he just wanted to have a little fun.
You all take your job way to seriously.
As most of you say they don't pay you enough to care that much.

No, the OP needs to chill out.

I care about the rest of the poor bastards still left behind in Kroger. No need for idiots to make it worse for them.

I actually went in to a random store today, but not doing what I said above.  I was just dressed like a normal customer.  It was snowing outside and the CCs were having a rough time in the cold bringing in carts.  I went up to a co-manager and told her that I would give her a perfect customer survey review (mentioning OSAT rating), if she went out with me in person and thanked the courtesy clerks for their hard work.  She tried to tell me off, saying, "Well I already gave them meat gloves."  At which point that was a deal breaker, so she decided to follow through.  Unfortunately, the CCs were on break or bagging at that point, as we couldn't find any bringing carts in the snow.  But I feel happy in at least knowing that she tried.  This shall be a regular thing.  One store at a time, I'll pick random employees that look like they're having a rough go and make a manager thank them for their hard work.

That's a much better idea than doing what you were originally going to do. If more managers were appreciative of their employees, morale would be a lot higher
