Saint Patrick's Day?

I'm not really nervous persay working on Saint Patrick's day, but I was wondering if anyone (customer or coworker) has taken tradition too literally and pinched you?

Since I really hate people touching me without permission, and if people try to pinch me I'd probably cry. Especially since this one guy has already been saying for the last week "Remember to wear green next week or you're going to get pinched".

I know the easy answer is "Just wear green" but a) I own nothing green and b) the FEM is always on anyone that wears nail polish, big jewelry, and non-kroger approved outerwear.

I swear if a customer pinches me I will smack the crap out of them... In all honesty, this has actually worried me for a while. I mean I don't wanna lose my job, but at the same time I will not tolerate someone pinching me. But I work in the fuel center, so it's easy for me to lock myself in there.

I tell people that I'm wearing green underpants. They shut up about it 100% of the time.

Customer yesterday warned me if I didn't wear green I'd be pinched by the "leprechauns." I told him seriously/jokingly, if they tried, they'd get punched. Well, next thing I know, this guy is DEMANDING corporates number. He then advises me to save all I can because "you don't get unemployment if you are fired!" His words.

I didn't threaten this guy per se, but if he did pinch me, yeah, I'd hit him.

Our store's letting us wear green today, so hopefully won't have any issues with pinchers. Have (jokingly) told a coworker I'd pinch him if he didn't wear green, but he has a sense of humor :)

Part of the Dresscode for anyone outside of Apparel and management is that at our store, all employees have to wear Green Aprons... so this won't be an issue for us :)

If a customer pinches you, they have just committed assault AND battery.

Assault any intentional act that makes a person fear they are going to be placed in physical harm.

Battery is when the person is actually touched, or you could consider it to be "completed assault".

So, if you become a victim of assault and battery while at work, do the following:

Immediately remove yourself from the aggravator, forcefully if needed.

Immediately call a manager, make the call very clear that you were just assaulted by a customer.

Call the police if you feel the need to.

Welp, one green beer, and an Irish car bomb with corned beef cabbage definitely made my day better.

Ah yes, America: the most sue-happy place in the entire world. I used to make fun of them, too. I still do.

I had the perfect solution the other day. I wore my green Cultural Council shirt.

Granted, I'm not on the CC, and the shirt was from another division, but nobody gave me any flack for it. :)
