I work in central division. Last night I saw a notice of a new reward program. It says it was started because employees had stated that there were no programs to reward hard workers. After reading what would qualify you for the rewards, it seems like it will just be one more program to reward the people who stand around talking to customers while someone else has to do more work to make up for them. The last employee recognition program we had was won by the same person in our store three or four years in a row. She is very involved in the local community but other people are as well. One of our meat cutters is a volunteer fireman but he was always overlooked in favor of the other employee. Kroger seems to only look at customer service to reward employees and not hard work. It says this program will change that, but I seriously doubt it. The same manager's favorites will still be the only ones winning any rewards.
With Kroger you have to have a "go with the flow" don't care atitude. You'll be less disappointed.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Just try and have fun no matter how much Kroger crap you have to put up with. the only reason I show up is for the other employees, not Kroger.
Central here as well...where we have to be so pleasant while getting dragged to the ground. I've seen a few get pins for survey call outs but most recognition I see from management is any imperfections...hardly ever hey thanks for all you do, or good try but this is how it should be, or why is this there, I don't like it change it, regardless of the plan..
