From checker/cashier to dairy.

So i am coming up to a year working at kroger. I like it (I go to college to). One of our dairy guys left and they moved me to diary the next day and got told I would be there a week, then a manager told me I might stay there. I do not want to stay in dairy. They ignored my days that I need off for college classes. I have no issues with helping but I do not want to move to another department. I told them I have no problem helping them but I would like to be moved back to the front when the week is up. Another kroger offered me a front end job with a higher pay and I said that I would like to stay at my current store. Having second thoughts now. (a boss told me it was a way to move up...even when I said that I couldn't meet the times they wanted me to be there in dairy)

My main reasons for not wanting to work in dairy is 1. I signed up for a cashier job. This would let me limit how many hours I could work and still go to college. 2. I have health issues with lifting stuff, short term is fine, but long term is an issue.

Even an old boss of mine who shops at kroger, was shocked at my transfer and talked to the head manager even when I told him to leave it.

I should also note that I am a youtuber who gets sponsored to go to gaming events for my network and write up blog stuff. I told kroger this and the time I needed off for an event though once I came back I was moved to dairy.

Unfortunately, this is what Kroger usually does. I specifically requested front end cashier and was told when I was hired that I would be front end cashier. The second interview comes up and the store manager was interviewing me because the hiring manager was on vacation; He decides to stick me in Fuel because they were short on people among other reasons.. In short, it's utterly ridiculous. Thankfully I was told by my manager (He is the schedule writer for our department) that I will get my wedding off, so that's a plus.

(Ironically I'm actually trying to get a start in my gaming/you-tubing :D )

Thanks, I will do this this week (actually dairy is fun) but I want to go back to checking. My ring tender was 97-110, I will offer to help if GM,dairy or grocery is short. I have an event the first of may and I really need that time off.

This is something they do on a regular basis, I suppose.

I applied for front end.  I got interviewed for deli because apparently they were short-staffed.  I said whatever, because I needed a job.  They did that to multiple people after I got hired.  One guy applied for cashier, was told that he'd be in dairy, then when he came to fill out his paperwork, it said deli.  He didn't last very long needless to say.

Dairy is a pretty chill department. You don't have to move very fast and doing milk is fun. Just keep the dairy cooler organized and make sure the milk orders are right. Keep it sanitized.

Use bandicam (or dxtory) but bandicam has a easier UI for first timers. A regular office head set will work for now and make sure u have a audio jack to usb converter. Also for editing Moviemaker will work but SOny vegas will save you so much time and will give u options.

update, I got sponsored by a game engine company to go to an event. I told them I couldn't go because of work. They called my work and now I am back at my old job as a cashier. My bosses are mad but I don't think they expected that. Also some lady who always went through my lane was mad that I wasn't there ( and in dairy) and yelled at one of them.... A new store opened up close by and they want me.

I don't want to leave my friends but my bosses are not on the nice side any more.

Also is joining the union any good?
