So as you know a courtesy clerk main task is to recover carts but as summer comes in the temperature rises up to 100 plus, any tips on staying clean/ smelling good? I usually just spray myself with cologne.
Well, taking a shower initially helps. Don't be coming to work all sweaty in the first place.
Maybe a quick face wash or sommat when you go to the bathroom. I dunno, I'm trying to find a way to sneak a bottle of water in the deli so I don't pass out from being around the ovens too damn long.
that's horrible, at my store there's a soda fountain right next to the deli counter, whenever the deli ladies are thirsty they just get a cup full o soda.

Yeah, apparently, they've taken to throwing out water bottles left in the back near the departments (bakery/deli). They just want us to dehydrate. :/ They wanna use the health safety excuse, but the human body does need water too, regardless of that rule.
Really? One quick call to OSHA might help you. At least where i work it is required that employees be allowed to drink water, than again its almost 110 during the summer and the inside of the store is no better off.
Normally in the summer months my store provides free kroger brand water in the break room fridge. Drinking a bottle every 2 hours or so can help you not pass out.

I came in at the tail end of summer last year, and I don't remember seeing water in the break room. There was a cooler if I remember correctly for the baggers when they went outside (and I think the sign specificially said that).

Um, the inside is a lot better actually unless you're the receiver. The sales floor has air conditioning.
AC, I've honestly never felt, nor has anyone else, its barely May and we're already hitting 100. Than again AZ has such bipolar weather, so by next week it should be raining.
I never let my guys stay out on the lot more than 20 minutes or so without getting water. I ignored all their "tough guy; I'm fine" talk. I know a guy that died of heat exhaustion so I took it seriously.
